Rookie mom mistake? or just one stylish baby? (or both?)

Ok, all I know is Sophia better get here soon before I buy up the entire inventory in Gymboree & Gymboree Outlet! I seem to pass the time waiting for her arrival by shopping for her (and daydreaming of how adorable she’ll look so I just HAVE to buy it)! Since I don’t know exactly what items a baby really needs (or doesn’t need) I just end up buying everything! I’m afraid this is a rookie mom mistake as rumor has it all a baby really needs is some plain white onesies and a receiving blanket to get by! But how boring and how can I NOT buy that cute sweater jumper or miniature cardigan or skinny jeans!? (is this just a rookie mom thought that I’ll later regret and end up finding it easier to just dress her in that onsie?)…just in case I’m keeping the receipts! I’ve went as far as making an inventory of everything she has and I am trying to spread out the items I’m purchasing to fit her throughout the year but, still, I’m left wondering if I’m buying too much or if its going to be ok and she’s just going to be the best dressed baby I know (or at least better dressed than me! LoL).

    Keep buying the cute clothes! Lol. That way I'll have a lot to play with when I want to change her twenty times for you ;-). The clothes, not the diaper! Seriously, I'm sure they don't need it at all, but Ayantu's baby is 5 months old and she's still dressing him up and buying complete matching wardrobes for him. It's so fun! Of course I'm not a mom and it's probably not practical, but whatever.

    HAHA! I agree! I think part of the fun of a baby is going to be dressing her - I wonder if it will feel like it did when I was playing with my dolls? lol. I'll have to revisit this post a few months into parenthood to see if my opinon has changed! But for now, I'll keep shopping...I have a few Gymboree Bucks (free money! Wahoo!) to spend in January anyway. :)

    Yeah, I say go ahead and spoil her with cute clothes. She might even end up with good fashion sense...then she can teach me! lol!
